Hello!

Dear friends, my name is ARYA. Today I am going to show you! How To Install CentOS 7 On VMWare Workstation 16 Pro

Nowadays Linux operating system’s popularity is increasing. Most of the servers are using the Linux Operating System, and personal systems also started using various Linux distributions. CentOS is one of the popular Linux operating systems.

CentOS stands for Community ENTerprise Linux Operating System, a well-known open-source Linux distribution managed by the RedHat Community. CentOS was first released back in May 2004 as CentOS v2. Later in January 2014, it officially joined RedHat while staying independent from RHEL. still, CentOS is honored as an RHEL without sanctioned product support. You can use CentOS as a volition to RHEL as both CentOS and RHEL partake in the same source law. Those who want to try RHEL can try CentOS. Before giving it a  pass, you should install it on your original machine. rather than directly installing CentOS on your machine, we recommend installing CentOS Linux on VMWare Workstation.

CentOS Streamvs. CentOS Linux

In February 2021, RedHat made a big advertisement on CentOS. Which led to some confusion within the Linux community for some time. RedHat blazoned that it would discontinue CentOS Linux as downstream to RHEL. rather than that, it would continue the CentOS sluice which is the upstream interpretation of RHEL. This made some people presume that CentOS will no longer be available.

Both CentOS Linux and CentOS Streem are open-source Linux distros and part of the overall enterprise Linux ecosystem. CentOS is going to be the open-source development platform for forthcoming releases of RHEL. Whereas CentOS Linux is the same open-source development platform deduced from the source law of RHEL.

According to RedHat, the open-source development cycle of RHEL is

  1. Fedora: The upstream design on which future Red Hat Enterprise Linux major releases are grounded.
  2. CentOS Stream: An exercise of forthcoming Red Hat Enterprise Linux minor performances.
  3. Red Hat Enterprise Linux: The functionary, hardened, and completely supported enterprise operating system product.
  4. CentOS Linux: A community-supported and- produced Linux distro deduced from source law released by Red Hat.
